The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and acts as the legal advisor to the Council in all aspects concerning the performance of its official duties.  She serves as an advisor to the Mayor concerning legal problems that may affect the City administration.  

Among the duties of the City Attorney are attending the meetings of the Council when requested, acting as the attorney for the City boards, prosecution of ordinance violations, and representing the City in cases before the courts and other tribunals.

Attorney Doyle graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 2002 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Business Administration.  She went on to obtain her JD from Michigan State University College of Law in 2005.  

Amanda’s practice includes primarily municipal work.  In addition to being the City Attorney for the City of Burton, she represents Montrose Township and Genesee Township here in Genesee County, and Monitor Township in Bay County.  

Amanda is admitted to practice law in Michigan, the Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. 

She currently resides in Burton with her husband and two children.
