Watermain Construction and Road Closure: Atherton Road from Belsay to Cherylann
The City of Burton is proud to announce that we will be constructing a public watermain on Atherton Road from Belsay Road to just west of Cherylann Dr. Construction will begin the week of April 15, 2024, and continue through approximately June 2024. Included in the water main is hydrant installation, ditching grades, and driveway approach repairs/removals etc.
There may be times driveway approaches will be affected by the project. We will work with everyone to maintain access to homes and businesses. A City of Burton inspector will always be on site during the construction, please find him or call the office (810) 742-9230 if you have any problems with access.
We will be closing Atherton Road from Belsay to Cherylann to through traffic for watermain install. All residents will have access to their driveways, buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through and all other traffic is asked to follow the posted detours. The road will be open to all traffic after 6:00 p.m. every weekday on the weekends. The closure will start on Monday April 22nd and is anticipated to be fully open on or before Friday, May 10, 2024, weather permitting.
