Signs

A sign permit shall be required for the erection, construction, or alteration of any sign, except as hereinafter provided in chapter 153, and all such signs shall be approved by the Zoning Administrator as to compliance with the requirements of the zoning district wherein the sign or signs are to be located and the requirements of Chapter 153.

Applications are required to be filled out completely by the owner and/or applicant. Required along with the application is a picture of the sign and fees. Sign permit application

Free Standing:

Not more than 1 freestanding sign may be erected accessory to any single building, structure, or shopping center regardless of the number of separate parties, tenants, or uses contained therein; provided, however, when any single building, structure, or shopping center is located on a parcel of land that abuts on 2 or more streets, it may have 2 freestanding signs. 

No freestanding accessory signs shall have a single surface area exceeding 0.25 square foot for each lineal foot of street frontage and 0.5 square foot for each lineal foot of street frontage for signs of 2 or more faces.  No freestanding accessory sign shall exceed 150 square feet total surface area for a single faced sign and 300 square feet total surface area for signs of 2 or more faces. 

Building or Wall:

The total surface area of all signs erected on any single building or structure shall not exceed 2 square feet for each lineal foot of building frontage, with a maximum permitted surface area of 200 square feet.
