Election Information


The City Clerk's Office is responsible for conducting all City, County, State, Federal and School Elections held in the City of Burton.  In addition, the City Clerk's office maintains voter registrations.

The City of Burton participates in the State-Wide Qualified Voter File (QVF) System.  The City's voting records are available from this system  to do the following:

  • Determine if you are registered to vote
  • Find your Polling Location
  • Learn to use your voter equipment
  • Find answers to frequently asked questions
  • View your sample ballot
  • Register to vote

2020 Elections
March 10, 2020 Presidential Primary
May 5, 2020 Special Election(Precincts 3,8 & 10 ONLY)
Due to health concerns regarding COVID-19 and the Governor's Executive order # 2020-27, the May 5th Special Election will be conducted by mail. Polling locations will NOT be used. Please contact the Clerk's Office at 810-743-1500 Extension 1402 for more information.
August 4, 2020 State Primary
November 3, 2020 State General



The Clerk's Office is open to the public  
for the following extended hours during Elections:

The Saturday prior to EVERY Election - 9:00AM - 5:00PM
 Election Day - 7:00AM - 8:00PM
