Fire Department
The mission of the Burton Fire Department is to eliminate the loss of life or injury due to the ravages of fire. To reduce significantly property loss due to fire by serving the public with dedication, professionalism and integrity; emphasizing the importance of the fire prevention in the community. Tempering the level of service with the responsibility to be prudent caretakers of the public funds entrusted to us.
Currently there are 40 firefighters serving the City of Burton. The firefighters are paid on-call employees. Firefighters are under the direction of the Fire Chief who is appointed by the Mayor with confirmation by the City Council.
Open Burning Status: PERMITTED with a VALID Permit.

There are three fire stations located in the City of Burton.
Station 1 is located at 2031 E. Bristol Rd. near the intersection of S. Saginaw St.
Station 2 is located at 1320 S. Belsay Rd. near the intersection of Lapeer Rd.
Station 3 is located at 4515 Davison Rd. at the intersection of Genesee Rd.
Fire Department Headquarters is located inside Station 2.
